My Journey Into MOSS2007

So I have become the owner of our MOSS 2007 efforts here at work. I am now responsible for getting the collaboration portal up and running so that we can start sharing information across teams in the org. I am excited to work with MOSS2007 since it is worlds different/better than how things were in versions past; but I am new. This has made it challenging for me since I have not ever done any 'custom' development before. I have a crap load of questions. So while my favorites are ok, I will be posting links to articles and blogs that cover the MOSS2007 space. My first issue was that I was seeing the 'System Account' for my user name. I found through a newsgroup that it is by design that when your name is associated with an app pool that SharePoint will show that. I set off to find out how to change that account (it needs to be changed through the gui and not on IIS Admin or issues will result) and I found this article:
