Comment spam
DotNetGeeks bloggers, check your comments for some gross spam if you have moderation disallowed. Does anyone know if there is a way to set up filtering, so certain comments can be excluded? I got some pretty nasty stuff I had to delete.

"So long as they don't get violent, I want to let everyone say what they wish, for I myself have always said exactly what pleased me." -- Albert Einstein
As this being my first (of hopefully many more to come) blog here on .Net Geeks, I want to take the opportunity to thank The Original .NET Geek for inviting me to participate in such an exciting start of something I know is going to be very successful...

“Send someone a note that reads "Congratulations." Regardless of who he is, he'll think he's done something the past week to deserve it.”
This week one of our fellow bloggers here on DOTNETGEEKS, Garry Farris , has been promoted to the position of Associate Director over the .NET Practice with Fujitsu Consulting. I have known Garry over the last couple of years, and I will have to say that...

So when I decided to finally do something with the domain name(s) that I had been hoarding for the last few years, I knew that I had better use the best community software on the planet. Community Server from the guys at Telligent Systems was just what...

Future Mods for My CS Installation
Community Server Rocks! Since I have installed my CS site, I have been working to modify it. I have already done a considerable amount of little changes, and am now getting curious on how to modify the source as well. As a result, I have been doing a...

More Community Server Changes
So I can't seem to stop tweaking the community server install. A couple days ago I made my first post regarding my community server mods . I was surprised to see that big brother was reading and that I made the Daily News . Any how Dave gave me some...

My VX-6700 Mods
I have owned the VX-6700 for a few months now and have loved every minute....except the first few when I found out that the phone came with some features crippled. That's right, crippled. Leave it to Verizon Wireless to cripple the best mobile device...

Posting to this blog. What to do?!?!!!

Covariance, Contravariance and Generics
This post is a result of an expensive lesson I learned. The situation: We use an MVP style architecture, Presentation Abstraction Control , on our application. As such the controller maintains a reference to the view(presentation) and the model(control...

What Every Developer Should Know About Character Sets
Alright, I admit it, I had never really understood character sets until recently (gasp!!). Let's face it, learning to be an international superstar developer is hard enough without having to worry about big/little endian or ASCII / Unicode. This was always...

Vista 64 Bit on Latitude D630
So I finally got my new Latitude D630 Today. I like it. Sleek, light and runs much cooler than my D810. It did not come without some challenges though. I was having an issue where on a soft restart (not powering off first) vista would BSOD. While the...

Unblocking Blocked Outlook Attachments - an Alternative
Scott Hanselman has posted an article on how to hack the registry to unblock file types in outlook. While this is effective, I find it frustrating to have to go into the registry to get a file attachment to show up; especially if it is temporary. A while...
